I always thought of this song as someone who's been through a rough patch of some sort and are going back home to get themselves together. Even though they've hit a rough patch they're determined to stay where they are and don't want people criticizing them for it because it's their choice. Daughtry's one of my favorite artists and this is one of my favorite songs by them.
